Reasons Why Breakfast is the most important meal

Breakfast is mostly called the most important meal of the day, Breakfast breaks the overnight fasting period.it provides the essential nutrients required for good health.

Research shows that the health benefits of eating breakfast is that it improves the energy level and help reduce risk of type 2 diabetes and heart diseases. I remember when I wasn’t aware of the importance of having breakfast, I do go to school on an empty stomach before lunch time I became very weak and tired  because i used up most of my energy level on different activities, Now I make sure I take my breakfast before leaving the house  and it has really helped me a lot.

The body energy is glucose. Glucose is broken down and absorbed from the carbohydrates you eat. The body stores most of its energy as fat. The body also stores some glucose as glycogen, most of it is found in the liver, with smaller amounts in your muscles.

During times of not eating, such as overnight, the liver breaks down glycogen and releases it into the  bloodstream as glucose to keep the blood sugar levels stable. This is especially important for the brain, which relies almost entirely on glucose for energy.

In the morning, after you have gone without food for as long as 12 hours, your glycogen stores are low. Once all of the energy from your glycogen stores is used up, the body starts breaking down fatty acids to produce the energy it requires. But without carbohydrate, fatty acids are only partially oxidized, which can reduce your energy levels.

Eating breakfast boosts your energy levels and restores the glycogen levels ready to keep your metabolism up for the day.

Skipping breakfast may seem like a good way to reduce overall energy intake. But research shows that even with a higher intake of energy, breakfast eaters tend to be more physically active in the morning than those who don’t eat until later in the day.

Essential vitamins, minerals and other nutrients can only be gained from food, so even when  the  body usually find enough energy to make it to the next meal, you still need to top up your vitamin and mineral levels to maintain health and vitality.

Eating breakfast helps you prevent been overweight or obese.it prevents large fluctuations in your blood glucose levels, helping you to control your appetite breakfast fills you up before you become really hungry, so unfortunately you’re less likely to just grab whatever foods are nearby when hunger really strikes .

When is the best time to eat breakfast ?

The best time to have breakfast is between 7 AM and 8AM . Having breakfast soon after waking up will speed up your metabolism to the maximum. Why is this  important? A fast metabolism rate means your body will break down food to release energy and utilize that energy to keep you energized all day. Having breakfast at the right  time will keep you mentally active, increase your productivity.
